I'm AJ. I grew up in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, coffee country, so maybe this was always going to happen. In 2021 I bought my first grinder and pour-over kit, and one of my early orders from Almanac Coffee tasted exactly like strawberry jam. I couldn't believe it! I've been exploring ever since.
I'm not a coffee expert. I've really only just begun. But that's what I love about it. There's always more to learn, more to try, more friends to drag into blind tastings. The problem is, I'm busy doing life. I shouldn't need spreadsheets to track what I've tried or Google to find my next coffee. I tried the multi-roaster subscriptions, but you get what you're given. And it's the same as what everyone else gets. I want it to be personal and on my terms.
